So the rug is not as soft as I would have liked it to be but it's also jute and I expected that. However, it does not hurt your feet when in your bare feet. I have had other jute rugs that did. It is a great color. I wanted something that would not stain easily since it is in a high traffic area. I like the quality of the rug for the price. It really is worth the $40. All in all I am very pleased with my purchase.
